I have 2 boars both are about 3 months old They have been fighting and i am thinking about separating them. They have only been together for 1 week and there have been no major fights really no blood has been drawn and i haven't found any tufts of hair in the cage but i am worried that flicky (feminine name because i was told he was a girl when buying him. the vet proved his manhood during a check-up! :D) is bulling snowball (formally snowy also believed to be a girl until same check-up! :D) and i do not want snowball to become depressed :( and now flicky has been doing this all day even during floor time and snowball was very nervous and on edge all day. if i have been out and come back to them they seem to be getting along OK and napping together in the igloo but when I'm giving them each cuddles :smitten: they seem to fight. could flicky be jealous of snowball as i had flicky 1st or do you think they will keep fighting until i have to separate them? please help me as these are my 1st piggies. :'(

Don’t separate them just yet if there has been no fighting. I’m having the same with mine, from when I got them at 3 months old to now (6 months later) they have been rumbling at each other, and now teeth chattering but still no fighting. Others have advised me on here just to keep an eye on them, so that’s what I’m doing. I have a bath towel near the cage in case anything kicks off when I’m there to separate them, I also have a contingency plan for the cages etc if they do have to be separated.

I thought Treacle (now the bigger and more dominant one) was bullying Scampy too because Scampy was very nervous and wasn’t gaining weight as quickly – I decided later that it wasn’t bullying – it was just that Scampy has a naturally nervous temperament, and so Treacle being the more confident was coming out of his hiding places sooner and eating all of the food before Scampy had worked up the courage! :o) Now they are fed veggies separately to make sure Scampy gets his fair share, they have 2 food bowels and 2 piles of hay on opposite sides of their cage.

my boys dont always get along but its nothing major, its just boys being boys really they should soon work it out O0

I almost seperated my two about 6 weeks ago because they had a fight and one seemed very nervous of the other who appeared to be bullying him. He ran away and hid every time Doodle approached but now I'm glad I held on because the situation is much better. Doodle is now the dominant one but Zebedee doesn't seem to be afraid of him anymore. He just lets him be boss. Hang on a bit longer and hopefully it will get better.

Ohone more thing... I was playing with snowball and i noticed a little bal patch behind his ear and behind the normal bald patch. I know they dnt have mange mites or fleas the vet gave them an injection against alll of that 3 days ago it wasn red or bleeding or scratched do u think flickey could have pilled it out? :(

all piggies have a slight bald bit behind their ears if you check the others you will notice there all the same ;)

hmmmm I'm not sure would you be able 2 take a pic 2 let us see and judge then?

hmm... ill try. i was looking at it today again and it looks ok so it probably is nothing. thanks for all the help though :D
