Does anyone have a runt of the litter? Did your guinea pig stay smaller than normal, or did it just take a whole lot longer for them to grow up to normal size.

I have a runt, and after having her for a year, she is only 1.5 pounds (680 grams). Will this be her final weight, or will she finally get up to average size?

Dennis is the runt and for a boar he is quite small only 975g at his heaviest. When I told the vet he was the runt, she said he was quite large if that was the case and she thought he would be smaller than he is. What matters more is, is she healthy? Does she maintain her weight? Is she happy?

In the guides at the top of the page there is a guide about the weight of gp's. I can't link it in cos I on my phone. Have a look at that. It could be that your little girl is genetically programmed to stay small. Enjoy her as she is and rejoice in the fact that you are going to give her a great life and you will have loads of fun together.
