Hello, I have 2 separate pairs of male piggies.

Iggle and piggle are the first pair I got and who are nearly a year old and seem to have grown quite fast and are considerably bigger than the newer fudge and nut who are around 5/6months who seem to be growing a lot slower.

I’m not sure on whether it’s normal for them to all grow differently or whether they are lacking something in their diet.
Any answer is appreciated thankyou :)

Iggle and piggle (2nd photo) are on a diet at the moment as they are a little round🙈 as they are very greedy piggies. The photos may not show the difference. FA16EE32-6F2F-4534-8CF8-33C178B1EB7B.webpF00AA103-787B-48D6-8F1A-CE0051851274.webp

Welcome to the forum
What gorgeous boys you have there.
Piggies do grow at different rates and so long as they are healthy and within the normal weight range there’s probably no need to worry.

Piggies are, by nature, greedy.
Mine wheeked loudly for food when I came in a few days ago so I gave them a few greens.
About 15 minutes later there was no sign of the greens and they were explaining to my husband as he walked in that they hadn’t been fed for hours and hours.

Thankyou :) never again will I own a long haired piggy tho hes really shy so trying to cut his fur is an absolute nightmare I’ve tried all ways to calm him but never works so I just do little bits at a time🙈

I was worried that I was missing something in their diet but they have shiny coats and are in good health. All of my piggies start to wheek as soon as they hear foot steps from anyone in the house but they’ve learnt that when I say hi in a high pitched voice that’s when it’s food time.

Thankyou for your help much appreciateated

Your piggies are gorgeous. I have noticed my more recent additions (2 boars) are growing more slowly than my other 2 pairs did as babies. I am wondering if it's because they are a more bouncy active pair than the others were. Although saying that Caspy aged about 10 months went over the kilo mark this week!

I have 5 piggies. Two of them are twins whom I have had since they were 9 weeks old. They live in the same cage and get the same food. They are now over a year old and one is over 1000g and the other just tops the scales at around 800g. The smaller one is the more dominant, and if anything the bigger one is on the receiving end of any bullying that's going, so it's not about the small one getting kept away from food. So even with the same genetics and the same access to food, there can be quite marked differences in size. The little one, Chicco, has even been caught up and overtaken by their 4 week younger cousin. Chicco is a much more dainty eater than the other two, he takes longer to eat a pellet and generally has better table manners - he waits to be offered and takes pellets gently from my fingers, while the others 'snatch' them away.

Its the same with mine, iggle (white) will eat his food in seconds but to say piggle(long haired) is boss man he takes longer to eat and weighs less aha.
My other two are just as bad when it comes to food I’ve never known tiny little piggies wheek so loud 🙈😂
As long as I know I’m not missing something from their diet I'm happy

thankyouu :)
That’s a good point the younger two are much more active and adventurous than my others so that may help weight wise. No matter how many toys I give the others they would much rather lay down and look at them. 😂

And I need to weigh mine soon I’m dreading it aha🙈 fat piggies

Welcome to the forum! We have a piggy called Piggle too (8 month old girl) and her cousin Puggle the same age, and we recently adopted a pair of 2 year old sisters who are much bigger and fatter than our original piggies! Tiny Puggle seems to have stopped growing and gaining weight at just under 800g, while our new giant fatty girls are both about 1200g. They get exactly the same food and I always give the smaller piggies extra food at cuddle time, but little Puggle just isnt interested in eating as much and isnt as big. Our Piggle is somewhere in between and gains 60g some weeks and loses 30g other weeks but is steadily getting bigger. There's a lot of natural variation in piggy size and appetites!

@PigglePuggle

I’m honestly dreading weighing mine it’s going to be terrible 🙈
I’m glad it’s just how they all grow different I got quite worried. I try and vary their diet but trying to find half of the food is terrible😔 Do you have any idea on which foods are best for daily because I read lots of different things and don’t know which to do🙈
