skidish guinea pig

We just purchased a guinea pig about one month ago for my 2 girls. It was a very young one from the pet store. Recently about a few weeks ago is has become very skidish, as it jumps all around like it has a flee bite it or somthing. Also it jumps and turns around now as if to trying to bite. we treat iher gently but she has become agresive when you try to pick up, any help please..........pj

Hi welcome to the forum.
It sounds like your pig may have mites. Is she scratching alot? Is there any hair loss at all? You should take her to the vets and the will give her ivermectin to treat it. She will need two doses, 10 days apart and that should help control it.
Where are you located? Guineas are very social animals and it is much nicer for them to have a companion (a girl obviously!) to be with. If you are near a guinea pig rescue you can take your girl there and bond her with another girl to make sure they get on alright (sometimes they dont get on so dont go out and buy another from a shop!) She will be much happier then and once the mites have been treated you'll have a great guiina pig

Your piggy has either mites (from this description) or ringworm (from your other thread). Please have her seen by a vet asap as either condition is extremely distressing for your piggy, as you can see from her changed behaviour.

If she has been with your other two girls, you need to have them checked as well, and if necessary, treated as well. Neither treatment is very expensive.
