So, we have two pigs that are housed together and one of them has these sort of scabs on both front paws. They've been there quite a while, and he doesn't seem in pain as far as I can tell, but any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

I can't really tell without another photo from a different angle but it looks like it might just be poo stuck there.

It rather looks like the remains of a poo stuck or a minor callus.

It's definitely skin, when I've bathed him and dried his paws it's not came off. It's on both front paws and it's been there a good few weeks. I'll try taking another picture later if he lets me. Thanks guys!

it looks like it could be a foot spur. These are just hard skin tags that are best left alone unless they are causing discomfort or growing too long in which case you or your vet can gently trim them but be careful not to cut too close to live skin as this can cause soreness and bleeding.

Foot spurs are pretty common in guinea pigs and both my girls as well as past piggies have them

There is a small article on foot spurs at the bottom of the page Guinea Lynx :: Guinea Pig Feet and Foot Problems

But you are concerned, by all means see a vet for a proper diagnosis if only for peace of mind.

It looks like a foot spur- some pigs are prone to developing calluses on their feet. They can extend backwards off the foot like a little talon, hence the name 'foot spur.' They don't do any harm, but you can trim them back (making sure to only cut the dead skin) if they are long enough to get caught on things. Some pigs get them and others don't... out of my two pigs living in the same bedding and environment, one has foot spurs and the other doesn't.

It is likely a small callus (hard skin) that may develop into a foot spur. About 1/4 - 1/3 of all guinea pigs develop them on their front paws, but they don't need any treatment unless they catch on things.

Thanks guys, puts my mind at rest! Here's a couple more photos, just after he had a bath.
