Skin Problem

I've got both my boys a vets appointment this week as they both have something on their skin, jax has a white patch with a bloody scab on top and buddy has white in/near in ear that starting to scab. Any idea what this could be?

Best for the vets to check this, hope all goes ok. The top pic looks like a minor scab which mine have occasionally had from fighting but hard to tell from a photo. Worth double checking that there's nothing in the cage just in case he's caught himself on something. Not sure about the white stuff.

The first could be anything from a small burst cyst to a bitten/scratched area after some irritation; it is always very difficult to tell from just a picture. The second could be some fungal; again it is just a guess.
 
Boys have been to the vet and have been diagnosed with mites and given an ivermectin injection and they are back in 10 days. I hate seeing them given the injection but it's what will help them get better so I just have to grin and bear it :)
