Ive just gone to check over my piggles for the day, and noticed my little pluto has a slightly crusty bald stripe over one eye. It doesnt seem to be itchy or sore, the hair around doesnt seem to be falling out or anything but the skin looks a bit like its got white crusty thick dandruff (like when babies have cradle cap). Ive scrubbed the cage and houses out and separated pluto from his ladies. Ive treated with xeno 450 for all the piggles as a precaution, but I'm thinking it might be fungal? Is there a routine treatment to try as its a small patch and isnt bothering him or should i go straight to the vets?

Always best to get it checked out by a ver just so you know what you are dealing with. I would probably suspect fungal given the position. Our vet normally treats with clotrimazole 1% which is canestan cream as a first line treatment. Cookie has a small stripe on her nose at the moment which we are treating with the above.
I would get it checked out by a vet though first just to be sure.
 
Thanks, as long as I'm not being mean by waiting til tomorrow to get it looked at. I know how delicate piggles can be and having never had this sort of trouble before I wasnt sure if it was a panic moment or just a visit as soon as I can sort of thing! I tried to get a pic but he wasnt having any of it, he's still a bit nervous of being handled bless him.
 
Tomorrow will be fine now. Well done on getting everything cleaned. We now use F10 on the recommendation Of Amanda on here, it's really good. Let us know how they get on at the vets tomorrow. Hoping you get it sorted out soon.
 
Thanks, where can I get F10 other than the internet (I'm thinking somewhere I can collect tomorrow rather than delivery times)? Is a full scrub every other day ok or should I do daily?
