This is a friends, daughters little guy: Mr.Nibbles.
They have had him about a month, I saw him the day after they brought him home (pet store) and that
First night he seemed perfectly fine to me. Today, I sopped by or a visit and found this in his nose... They aren't as experienced as myself & certainly as all of you and the collective genius of everyone in this group. Please, ANY IDEAS what it could be and, what, if anything, they should be doing ? (I already told them to take him to the local exotic vet, where I take my Gus, but I am wondering if there is something they can do now?)

Ringworm (or other fungal) is sadly very common in stressed shop piggies whose life is totally upturned. It is highly contagious and the one thing that can cross over to other mammals, including humans and other pets.

Please ask your friend to seek vet care for a proper diagnosis and care; treating on spec can make things easily worse than better. We have got a piggy savvy UK vet locator on the top bar. Your friend should be able to claim the vet cost back from the pet shop as the incubation period is 10-14 days.

Here are our tips on what to do to prevent it from spreading or recurring:

You guys all ROCK! I KNEW within minutes of posting this, that I'd have a response! So now here is my next question, I was just holding Mr.Nibbles. What is the best protocol for me to do upon returning home and PRIOR to going anywhere near my Gus & our girls?

UPDATE on Mr.Nibbles:

The pet store honored their policy of assuming his medical care and expenses, they are currently caring for him, he has the first vet visit in the am & will keep him until he is 100%, and then will return him to his family. Thank you ALL for your help in the matter! Xoxoxo
