Hi.
I would like to know if other persons on this forum also experience itchy skin after a poogie sniffed them. I had 2 sows between 1999 and 2009 (long live the sows !), they loved licking my hands and arms and I would always itchy get red places afterwards. At the time I was hiding it to my parents not to get Ariane and Laïka relocated.
Then we got Evo and Revo in 2017 and they don't seem to be much into licking people. Still their sniffing on our arms and neck often leads to some tiny pink itchy dots, so we usually use a cloth or long sleeves when handling them. Yes both persons in our couple get this reaction.

I'm aware that allergic reactions can go worse with years but this doesn't seem to have changed in that many years so I'm not worried about it. Mostly curious wether it's a common reaction for humans.

It’s likely their hair rather than sniffing that you’re reacting to. I think there have been a few on here who have reacted to their piggies.

Well I don't think it's hair because as long as there is no sniffing involved I don't get any reaction. Like if one of them is lying next to me exposing its back to my neck. Or if I'm keeping it quiet with a naked forearm, then only the part in contact with the nose will get itchy. I can also wear a hairy hoodie where they had a little nap without any problem ^_^

Then possibly saliva. I can’t think of anything around the nose area that would make you react apart from perhaps saliva that’s on the outside of their nose/mouth. I assume their nose touches your skin?

Yep, I think it's saliva or whatever fluid they might have on their adventurous noses. It's not much trouble anyway.
