Hi I’m looking for a bit of advice.

My guinea pig gave birth to 5 little ones a few days a go. They are all well and healthy.

I’ve noticed Mum is looking a bit skinny. I’m wondering if there is anything extra I can do for her. There is always food, water and hay available. They have daily veg and access to a run from their hutch.

I picked her some long grass today which they haven’t had much of in this hot weather and she seemed really hungry. I think I will begin to put grass/veg in the bedroom as the babies always call her back to them when she goes to eat.

Is there a good veg I can get to best help fatten her back up?

Thanks for any replies :)

No problem, the forum does have a number of 'specialist' owners and 'advice givers' on all matter of subjects and no doubt one will be along to provide any further information you may need. Just so you know, we are a pro rescue forum so we do not support active piggy breeders - so forgive me if I cast you wrongly. We are all here for the best care of guinea pigs and it's great you've found the forum in any case.
