I didn't know these existed until today. They have no hair.. They look cool.

Are they just a hairless pig? Tempted to get one they seem cool
 
A few Forum member have them and I am sure they will chime in with their own expereince, but skinny pigs require some specialist care and are certainly not recommended for new owners.

If you really are interested in one then please make sure you do some research first to make sure you can meet their needs..
 
I saw the price of them. I'm kind of less interested now lol. Don't have enough room anyway.

But something I would look into in the future
 
We have a skinny pig! Little Tallulah bat-hippo.They are always hungry and poop a lot as they have a faster metabolism, and ours seems a bit hyperactive and temperamental compared to our furry piggies. Lots of character. Very noisy. Need keeping warm in fleecy tunnels that they poop in so much they need changing daily.
Also in our experience they dont always react to standard vet care quite like the vet expected. They were lab bred for research, which is different to being bred for a cuddly pet. They are always inbred, because if crossed with a furry the babies and furry too. And being naked, a small warning nip from another piggy that wouldnt be an issue through fur can go straight through the skin and cause pretty big injuries.
I think you would need to be prepared for them not being quite like other piggies in lots of charming, alarming and subtly weird ways!
 
I love my skinny pig, Jasmine! She is my second skinny, the first one sadly passed away last year. They are very strange little creatures, but I find them fascinating (as I do all my piggies). Here's Tallulah looking very cross because piggy daddy offered her an evil red salad leaf (being stamped on here, to the left). She is a voracious eater but gets very angry if her salad is the wrong colour, "wheek snort foot stamp nostril flare stoopid hooman do you not know that salads should be green?!"

I have always wondered, do guinea pigs wirh hair look like this if they had no hair? Or do skinny pigs have their own look
 
I think they may be smaller and narrower in the face than a lot of piggies because lab animals havent been bred for that cuddly cutey fat face look like abysinnians have. Jezzy floof and Tallulah often stare at each other looking completely puzzled because they both speak guinea pig and eat hay but what the heck is that animal?! Its like a chihuahua meeting an old english sheep dog...
 
Do they need to live on there own?

The shop selling it had only one.
 
No they should live with other piggies, ours is currently living on her own after she failed to bond with the boss lady pig of my main herd amd they had a fight, but this is just temporary- she lives next door and interacts through the cage bars and we are hoping to bond her with another piggy next week, she doesnt like being alone at all and needs a friend!
 
Well something to look into for the future. They look soo cute
