Hi! I bought 2 skinnies from a coworker who was sold a pregnant skinny and wanted to give them an amazing home.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I feed them lettuce, peppers, cucumber, (seeds cut), carrots, apples, strawberries (couple times a week) we have changed bedding because we thought that was a problem, changed hay, switched up their little diet, but my baby girl has a bunch of dry patches on her! I have 2, my one is fine and only has a couple but they are just little dry patches that are easily fixed after a coconut oil bath. My other girl however has scratched it to no end. I polysporn her, I had mild steroid cream for my eczema, I don't know what to do and it's scary because I love them sooooooooooo much!
They are just over 2 months old, all activity has stayed the same. Still active, killing, vocal, etc. We have searched for fleas/tics. And I have had ringworm before and it doesn't look like it at all either.
Thanks in advance, I need all the help I can get. 20170717_122647.webp

Hi safest bet would be to see a vet , question ! Do you feep dried feed pelets ? seems like a lot of fruit and vegetables!

Welcome to the forum. What are you bedding them on?

That could be fungal... Do not use execma cream on her please at all. Get to a vet and get a diagnosis. Whereabouts are you located we may be able to suggest a good vet.

Also please remove fruit from their diet it should only be feed as a treat

Tagging an experience skinny owner if for you and hopefully a few will see this thread @helen105281

I agree with getting her vet checked. My skinny Katie had what we thought was fungal but it turned out to be mange mites which live under the skin. If the vet does diagnose fungal though I believe enilconazole dips are ok for young skinnies though you may want to opt for an oral fungal medication like Itrafungol or Sporanox if you are in the US.

That looks quite similar to the patches my skinny pig Wilbur had on him which were due to ringworm. It looks so different to most of the pictures online as they obviously don't have hair like most of the pictures of piggys do. Don't worry it cleared up for us in under 2 weeks with an ointment (I forget the name) prescribed by the vet and my other pig never caught it! It may not be ringworm anyway I would just be sure to visit a vet so you can get her sorted asap. She's adorable by the way!

I agree with the others, a vet check is certainly needed. To me it does look like the beginnings of a fungal infection.
