Skinny pig photo shoot!

I love this! They all look so sweet!

I’d love to do something similar, how did you do it?
Thank you! So I actually reached out to a handful of pet photographers and just told them I had a strange request: guinea pigs! Lol I was up front about my expectations (that the pigs may or may not behave, especially the newest rescue) and that I really just wanted a photographer who was okay with working with animals who are likely to poop, pee, and just generally not listen to commands or anything like that. 😂

I also made it clear that I wanted the shoot to happen in my house so as to minimize their stress. I found someone who had photographed pigs once before for a rescue, and she was totally game for the challenge! Because I wanted a clean background, she even brought a small portable white backdrop that we set up on a table so they’d have lots of space. She essentially just photographed them as they ate, explored, etc. :)

I’ve also had my late dog photographed professionally before, and I’ll say this was MUCH more work in the pre-planning, but 100% worth it, and I’d encourage anyone who wants photos of their pigs done to seek it out!

Ah thank you for the detailed answer! I’m definitely going to have a look for someone around me to do the same - such a beautiful set of pictures and they’d look lovely hung up on the wall!❤️

What sort of wizardry was afoot to keep them still?!
LOL This is a great question. We're pretty lucky because our boys are really chill. The one on the tractor is a dog in a guinea pig's body, I swear, and he just wants to explore and inspect everything. Plus, he's a huge momma's boy, so once I put his little hands up on the tractor, he did the rest! The next two were plied with food, of course. Hahaha The final pig was the most difficult, as we had only adopted him about two months prior to this, so he was definitely like WTF did I get myself into in this house?! We basically just left him alone, fed him, and took what photos he was willing to give us. He had the shortest session, but he actually took some great photos!

You're welcome --would definitely recommend it! I can't wait to select which ones to print (though I've obviously purchased them all, hahaha) and hang up them up!

What lovely pictures....and you gave me some amusement when I started to imagine what disasters would unfold if I tried this with my three! 🙈
