So yesterday I adopted my skinny pig boy, Gus. His previous owners told us he wasn't scared of hoover or anything but he was scared of Google/alexa voices. I didn't really believe them but every time I ask my Google Speaker to say something he freaks out. He starts chattering and trembling. He's not scared of human voices or music. Why is he so scared of it? And how can I get him to not be scared of it? :(:hmm:
 
Some piggies react differently to certain noises. It will be the tone of the voice either too high or bassy. Can you move the speaker away from them or turn it down?

The speaker is in the opposite corner of my room to his cage. I turned it right down yesterday so I could barely hear it and he still got scared :(
 
Aren't piggies strange?! We had a piggy named Joe, and every time the jingle on a particular game show came on he chattered his teeth and ran under the settee 🤣

Hi! Has your new pig ever lived with other piggies since he was a baby? If not, he may have not the first idea of how to deal with other piggies and be deathly afraid of them.

My Beryn for instance was scared stiff of 5 week old babies and will not accept another piggy in her space although she is Ok with living alongside them. she was very obviously somebody's beloved but very human orientated piggy before she was found dumped and wandering on the grounds of a cricket club.

You may have to keep your new boy as a people pig and not a cavy companion. ;)
