One of my skinny pigs is just getting over a skin infection, but the rest of her skin seems very dry. I have been using coconut oil as a moisturiser which seemed to be working well but have had to increase from once a week to at least once a day use. Have any skinny pig owners found anything that seems to cause the dry skin and what have you found to work well for ongoing moisturising

Generally speaking skinny pigs do not need moisturising routinely. By moisturising and doing it too much you could actually be making her skin worse as it can be stripping all the natural oils.
Have you spoken to a vet about the dryness?

if they need it, I'd be talking to a vet because it shouldn't be a requirement for them. I'd ask if it's definitely a dry skin problem or if there's something else going on, especially if it seems to be getting worse and not better.

i have one skinny pig who has dry skin. She has been seen by an exotic vet.we treated for ringworm which cleared.Samantha still had dry skin. The vet has suggested E 45 creme to use as necessary.
i would like others have suggested that you see a vet first.

Munchie went for her check up today, the skin infection all cleared up, just general dryness. My other skinny pig is fine. I have only had them 5 months and Munchie seemed to already have scarring so I am assuming she has always suffered from skin issues.

The vet recommended using duoxo care mousse, so will see how it goes.

Thank you all for your replies 😁

I just checked out what that is, it's not cheap. Have you looked at gorgeous guineas products? They might have something less expensive (but lovely) that works. A lot of us use their stuff.
