Hi all I'm really worried about blanche my skinny himi boar from priddy.
His skin had a few scratches to it when he came but started to look loads better.
Have been putting gg super soufle on it too.
He was treated with ivermectin for mites three weeks ago and has had another dose yesterday.
Two days ago he had an open cut and today has a big open cut on his back:(
all i did different yesterday was put him out on the grass in the shade with a blankie over the run.
He's not sunburnt so could this b fungal?
Have got neem melt and shampoo also from gg so should I do that 2mrw because of ivermectin?
Until then shall I put some sudocreme on sores?
Cut and filed nails yesterday.
Please help as I have to get these guys better!

Poor Blanche, it must look much worse with him being a skinny pig than such sores does on hairy pigs. I'd be inclined to pop some Bepanthen, or Sudocrem, on the sore for a day or two. Aloe Vera gel/ointment is another one that I've found can help soothe and protect as well.

It is possible that it's fungal - any other symptoms he has? - but it is also possible that mites are still an issue, given that the ideal time to repeat the dose of ivermectin is around 10 days, 14 tops, it'd be around the right time for mites to start bothering him again.

Sent you message Issy regarding lamasil spray for his fungal.

Agree with Laura bepanthen on the wounds - only the wounds then use lamasil 1% spray once a day on him (not a treatment for hairy's)

It will clear up his fungal in about a week. Dolly needed mites and fungal treatment and she was in a cage with Blanche so I expect they have the same stuff.

I have occasionally found that if a piggy has slight skin problems it can 'flare up' for a few days immediately after ivermectin treatment - this usually settles within a couple of days.

My little skinny, Angus, often gets little scratches and I treat these with either Camrosa or super souffle. They are not mites/fungal or anything nasty, just scratches, and they go as quickly as they come. Good advice given above as well if it is something more though. xx
