i held my first skinny piggy today, I was a bit apprehensive, but my they are sooo cute. Amazed how warm they were and soft skin too. I could be tempted to get myself one, but I don't really have the room, and three boars together, tempting fate I think. They were absolutely gorgous. I was very surprised xx

Love my skinnies, I was amazed how warm they are too when I first held them.
 
Mine live with my furries and snuggle up to them to keep warm. Phoebe and Barney are inseparable.
 
This is my thread! I'm new to the forum. I introduced miss Booty.
She's adorable and love her shaded patches. I am happy to photo bomb the pages with her cuteness.

How warm do you have to keep the rooms that they are in? I keep my room at 25 celsius- maybe sometime in the future I would consider a skinny pig! Just wondering :)
 
Our room is normal house temp.(22-24°C) Comfortable for us. She has a house packed with blankies and if she's chilly she goes in there. I ensure there are no drafts or cold air or fans in their room. The rats are sensitive too so its a great smaller room that holds the warmth.
 
She does pull some funny faces.

Sorry, forgot to answer your temperature question, think our room is about 20 degrees but we have to find a balance of being warm but not too hot as we have pigs with heart issues and they can become ill if they get too hot. The skinnies have cozies and heatpads.

She's awesome :) Yeah, I've been wondering if 25 degrees is too hot for them. I'm going to experiment with the room at 24 degrees this week. I think 25 is about the max for piggies. I could be wrong tho as there are a lot of different answers in the books I've been reading! lol! They have the warmest room in the house haha! We keep the rest of the house at 63 Fahrenheit in the winter which is pretty darn cool so the birds and pigs all live in the comfy "zoo room" as I like to call it! It's nice to sit in my chair in there and watch the birds in their aviary :)
 
Should have added I have nakie rats too so we've sort of perfected the warm, least drafty spots in the house for all the nakeds. Haha.
The nakeds have at least one fuzzy buddy as well as pocket hammocks (rats) we're working on a fuzzy friend for Booty

Naked rats?! Well, I never! I've also never seen a rat lol! Not in real life anyways. When my sister and I went to Paris- I had my eyes peeled, but no! I think if we were allowed to have rats in Alberta, I would probably have one! lol! And not gonna lie, I would probably dress it up every once and a while too ;)
 
I held skinny pigs for the first time a while ago at Wheek and Squeak. I really wasn't sure what I would make of them so asked Anna if I could hold them. Omg, they were utterly adorable! I am a complete convert and when I have the time and room I would love some. Wonderful personalities and just amazingly cute in their own way :luv: I often think about them. One day ....
 
I have 3 nakies..all boys as all my rats are male.

It was only fitting that I ended up with a naked guinea pig too. Soft spot for those hairless babies!
Booty is starting to get that people mean good things. She doesn't immediately jump and run away when we come into their room. Her eyes were almost literally bugging out of her head with her salad this morning. She got a bit of dandelion a chunk of bell pepper and shaved carrot with alfalfa. She was in heaven....I think all she got before was carrot as she seemed to leave that til later today. She LOVED the pepper!
Definitely a new daily staple for the little miss.
