Hello everyone!
I'm slightly concerned for my oldest boy Chip, who's about 4 years old. He's gotten visibly smaller lately and a quite lighter, but my other pig is super fat. Chip seems completely fine, he's still super strong, he's eating, his poo is normal. Is this an age issue, is he sick or is it simply a case of the other pig eating all the food?

Hi and Welcome to the Forum
:wel:

How much weight has Chip actually lost?
Do you weigh your boys regularly?

A healthy 4 year old should not be loosing weight for no reason, particularly as it sounds like you are an experienced owner who knows what you are doing.

If any guinea pig of mine looses over 100grams (adult pigs) I always take them to the vet for a check up.
It could be an issue which is not obvious such as a tooth problem or other underlying illness, and it is always best to have them properly examined to rule these things out.

It would be lovely to see photos of your boys sometime too.

Hey, thank you for your reply. We booked him in for a vet appointment but he got physically better so we decided not to take him. I regret that decision, because this morning he got very ill quite suddenly and passed away on the car ride home from a vacation.
I posted another thread with another issue I have, if you could check that out that would be awesommeeee
