Last week I took Skittles in to the vets for an emergency teeth filing as his had become seriously overgrown. This was due to me not being informed on the proper type of food to feed him and he wasn't getting pellets to keep his molars worn down.
He now has the proper food, but since getting him back he hasn't been eating or drinking very much. He will eat a little bit of greens, and a couple pellets at the most and has had only a couple drinks of water in the past couple of days. I have softened his pellets and have been syringe feeding him baby food that has plenty of vitamin C in it for the past week. I have also been giving him water in the syringe. After having some baby food he will eat a couple of pellets then go sit in a corner fluffed up.
He hasn't pooped much either and when he does it is small stringy and hard, the latest had a white mucus on surrounding it. He is still active and will chirp and wheek when I am playing with him, he also still pushes his little house around and has been happily flipping it over the past couple of days.
I am not sure if he just isn't getting over the anesthesia, or if he is lonely because he lives alone, or if it something new. At the beginning of the week he seemed to be doing better and was starting to eat and drink.
Any advice would be wonderful.
