I gave the pigs some romaine lettuce this evening and a little after noticed Sky looking a bit sad. Got him out and he was bloated.
So I've been laying here for the past 90 mins with him on my lap, making my legs vibrate and massaging him either side.
Finally he's just done a wee and two poos, I've popped him back atm and he doesn't seem uncomfortable.
He had actually been eating when I noticed the bloat and at this moment now hes at his food bowl, so good sign.

I don't understand what is wrong, since moving to Suffolk 3 years ago I have had bloated pigs, I never experienced bloat for ten years before that and my last 3 pigs that have died have all died from bloat.

I hate bloat, I'm just glad that Sky seemed gassy, no veg for him for a few days.

Aww I just walked past him and he did a massive jump, then a poo and he now has his face in his food bowl.xoxo

That sounds promising if he is eating :-) actually I've just been syringe feeding my Toffee who's bloat has flared up again. He's had it on and off since last June. I really feel for you having experienced it so badly. We will be off to the vet shortly as I feel he needs meta-chlopromide shot this time as I'm struggling to make him eat. He's been like this before and we've got him thru so am crossing fingers. Hopefully your boy just had a bit of gas x

Oh Hannah, poor Sky. Sounds like he's had a mini bloaty episode. Treacle is a bloaty piggie and will be set off by certain veg - the list of veg that gives her bloat is currently Cabbages, broccoli, coriander, green beans and celery leaves. We have spent ages adjusting her diet and seem to be on the right track. Our vet gives us metachlopromide to keep in, so when we notice the poo as stopped and shes bloaty we can start treating as it's been decided due to the amount of bloaty episodes and through X-rays there is no blockage causing it, just a build up of gas.

It is a pain but I'd recommend maybe keeping a food diary to work out any links between food and bloat. Food diaries helped us work out which veg affected Megan's wet poo's and we now have a successful diet for that also.

Hope Sky and JayneG's Toffee feel better soon x

Thanks sport_billy. A food diary is a great idea. Toffees tummy can't take anything except nuggets and hay now. It was a tiny piece of cucumber that probably set him off this time so it'll be nil beg from now on. Not the same with all piggies tho so not saying Sky will end up like that. The diary will be useful to narrow down the foods that set her off though.

We are back from the vet and a toffee has had a Metaclopromide injection and I'm to give it orally with zantac for the next few days along with critical care. If Sky doesn't feel better, it may be worth a trip to the vet for the same? It sounds like your already well versed in nursing your babies with bloat. I do hope she feels better and is running around soon x

Sky is a he* :))

He seems absolutely fine tonight and thank you both for the advice :)

He'll be off the veg for a few more days and I'll keep a close eye
