many of you will know Angels story from the day i fetched her last july. she was in an horrendous state, emaciated, dreadful bumble foot, nursing two 2 week old babies and pregnant again! eventually Angel went into labour but the baby had to be delivered by c-section as it was huge - it weighed a massive 300g! sadly the baby died while she tried to give birth to it. Angel recovered so fast and became the most affectionate guinea pig i've known. her friend, Harry, was neutered and on 18th december last year they finally moved in together. they were so happy and loved each other dearly, but then disaste struck. at the beginning of january i found a lump which turned out to be a mammary tumour. my gorgeous Angel was given about 2 weeks to live. she had come through so much and fought so hard just to have her life snatched from her. she continued to fight so hard and instead of the two weeks we thought she had left she managed another 4 months. in recent weeks i have been taking her regularly to the vets to have her checked. i didn't want her to be suffering at all. finally on sunday i knew her time had come. i planned to ring the vets and take her monday - but i didn't have the strength to do it. then tuesday morning arrived and i lifted her out of her hutch to check her as i did every day, and i knew i had no choice now. the tumour had grown even bigger and it was now discoloured. i knew it was ready to ulcerate and i didn't want that to happen. my gorgeous girl had to leave with dignity and free from pain. so at 5.30pm on tuesday 14th i said my very last goodbye to a very specail piggy. she bought so much love and inspiration into my life and i will truly miss her forever. such a gentle girl who somehow managed to trust humans again after all the hell she had been through.
i had some stick off certain members about the fact that i paid £10 to save her, her two babies and Harry. but i can tell you now, it was the best £10 i ever spent because if i hadn't have done so she would have died long before now and in agony.
RIP my beautiful Angel - a true inspiration to life x
this photo was taken days before she passed away. enjoying the sun and grass on earth - now free from pain and free to enjoy as much sun and grass as she wants at rainbow brigde - re-united with the baby she never knew x

I am so sorry that Angel didn't have longer, having overcome so much! But you have given her the happiest life possible.

RIP little supersow xx

I'm so sorry you lost your beautiful girl, but what an amazing life she must have had with you.

thinking of you love, rip Angel x

Some piggies are just so brave, aren't they? Angel has been fighting to stay here against the odds, now she can run free with no pain.

RIP Angel x

That was beautiful, at least you can say she knew love. she is beautiful x

Sally, that was a lovely tribute to a beautiful special girl. Many of us on the forum followed her story, she was a real fighter, a one in a million piggie. So glad that after such an horrific start to life she made her way into yours and met Harry.

You rescued that little girl and gave her the most important thing in the world - love. You were there for her at every point when she needed you and helped her accross the bridge when she had to leave. She will live on in your heart and memory forever. So sorry for your loss, big hugs to you x

Goodnight beautiful Angel, sleep well x

RIP Angel
x x

What a wonderful life she had with you - big hugs xx

I agree with what everyone else has said and I didn't realise what that pretty little piggy had been through before she found her home with you. I have been following your story from the first day you posted it about the tumour and whey was always very clear was your genuine love for her.... Angels story shows how amazing these little creatures are x

I am so sorry for your loss. You did a wonderful thing by rescuing Angel and ensuring she was loved and happy.

I am so very sorry for your loss.
RIP precious Angel. Run free x

what a lovely tribute, I am in tears for you, but you did all you possibly could and even more beside. She is over the Bridge now and will never feel any pain again. Hugs xx
