Yesterday was a very sad day.
We had to say goodbye to our dear bun Coco.

It became clear over the last two days that she had really had enough, beyond the months and weeks that she has also been struggling on end of life care.

We always said that we would keep her as comfortable as we could, but when she was tired and ready to go we would do the kindest thing and let her go before things got too far.

She’s been under a great vet who’s been helpful and supportive throughout. But in the end there was little more we could do for her.

Coco was a rescue. She was over 9 years at least. And has been plagued with health problems in the entire 4.5 years we have had her.

She was the queen of mayhem and mischief and she’s going to be very very missed. It’s the end of a rabbit era for me. I’ve had 4 very loved rabbits and I still miss them immensely.

Sleep tight my beautiful gorgeous girl. There’s no more pain for you. You were loved until the very end and beyond and leave my heart broken. I'm sorry I couldn’t fix you.

💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔

I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful girl.
As a rabbit owner myself (currently have three, but have had a previous six) I know the huge impact they have on your life and the gap they leave when they go. Be gentle to yourself in your grief and know that by letting her go you really did give her the last act of love.

Thank you. Gosh the gap is huge. Even more so this time as we have decided, for the immediate future, no more buns (and I think this will be forever to be honest).
The other losses were huge but waking up this morning to no rabbit at all was hard. Especially as she’s been on medication for so long and I’ve been making her favourite critical care bowl for breakfast every morning. I feel a bit lost without her nibbling my toes to hurry me along.
Thank you for your kind words.
I’m glad I have the pigs to keep my busy, as well as my cats, dogs and degus.

Rabbits are really special ❤️

I’m so sorry for your loss :( she was an absolutely gorgeous bun. She knows how much you loved her and cared for her and will always carry that with her xx

I’m so sorry you lost her, she was absolutely beautiful bun ❤ Massive hugs.
Sleep tight gorgeous Coco xx

So sorry for your loss of beautiful Coco.
You gave her a second chance and a wonderful home.
Be gentle with yourself as you grieve

I’m so sorry you’ve lost Coco, she looked like a real character and full of bunny mischief
Sleep tight gorgeous girl 🌈

I am so very sorry for the loss of your beautiful baby. She was stunning. Please be gentle and kind to yourself at this sad time x

Sleep well little one

RIP Coco
X x

I missed this. Sorry. She looks to have had the best life imaginable. Binky away at the Rainbow Bridge Coco Bun xx

Thanks all.
@Tara95 I miss her terribly. I miss her nibbling my feet when I wasn’t quick enough with food. I miss her begging for more veg from the pigs. I miss her when I spill herbs on the floor when giving some to the pigs (she would clean that up!)
The cats miss her loads too. They have always been around rabbits and they loved sitting with coco and playing with her (aka her chasing them around!)
It’s not the same without a rabbit. But I always wanted a rabbit free period and when we lost Joey (her younger 2nd husbun a year ago) it seemed the right time to end the cycle as she was old with lots of health problems.
Thanks for asking x

Aww bless her, she sounds adorable. I didn't know Rabbits could be so playful and brave. Despite her health problems it sounds like she had an amazing long life by all the pictures. It's amazing that you were able to take her in and give her love and care and a second chance. Be gentle with yourself, it will always take time. So sorry for your loss :( x
