My beautiful girl was so brave in her short life. She survived a huge ovarian cyst and fought so hard against bladder sludge - but on Friday morning, when I came to feed her and her sister Muffin, I knew her fight was over. I rushed her to the vet but there was nothing that could be done, other than to help her cross the bridge.

I love you so much Crumble, and I'm so sorry you were in so much pain in your last few hours. But no more pain and fighting now. Your sister Muffin and I miss you so much - but I know you're popcorning free and eating grapes to your heart's content now.

I'm so sorry that you have lost your brave girl. It's heartbreaking to lose them when they are young but you did all you could for her. You loved her enough to help her to the Bridge and that is the ultimate act of love. Hugs xx. Popcorn free Crumble xx
 
I am so sorry for your loss of crumble, I'm glad she didn't suffer, due to your swift & brave action.

My parter has rearranged the piggy pen for Muffin, she is being super brave like her sister and is coping brilliantly. All the advice says that Muffin should have seen Crumble after she had moved on, unfortunately that wasn't possible but I don't think Muffin is suffering because of that. Despite being poorly, Crumble was definitely in charge so Muffin is enjoying having some peace for the time being.

What has upset me is that Crumble's bladder had ruptured, so without going into detail she was in a bad way. I just hope it wasn't for too long before I found her.

Thank you for your kind words.

I received a lovely card in the post from Crumble's vet today, sending condolences and also confirming that Crumble could never have survived on Friday and I had made the best possible decision for her. That small gesture has really helped me cope with the guilt of letting Crumble go.

Guilt is the unreasonable part of grief and a horrible difficult emotion to go through. You would always make the correct choice for Crumble because you love them.. Huge hugs, take time to be kind to yourself x

Hello. I was lookin thro a few post as I'm recently lost my guy. I was lucky to a extent as he left us quickly. I'm admire your bravery and like to say well done. you did what you could and when. Be very proud of that. Very. x
