Tonight we've unexpectedly had to say goodbye to Elsa. Elsa had ongoing bladder issues for sometime and we'd managed her condition with a variety of medication.

She had been doing really well and it was a shock to see her deteriorate so quickly. We rushed her to the emergency vet but sadly she didn't make it.

We will always remember her sassy attitude and diva like behaviour . Sadly, she leaves behind Sven who I don't think will cope very well on her own. We are really upset at the moment but will try and put our grief aside and do the right thing for Sven.

We will love you always Elsa. Sweet dreams .

I am so sorry to hear this.Big hugs to you.

RIP Elsa xx

I am so sorry for your loss! Guinea pigs are such big fighters and personalities that it is easy to forget what small and comparatively frail bodies they have. You have given Elsa the best life possible.

RIP Elsa

So sorry for your loss.((BIG HUGS TO YOU AND SVEN))

I am so sorry for the loss of your little girl, it is obvious she has had an amazing life full of love and care with you. Lots of love to you and Sven at this sad time and huge hugs

Sleep well little one

RIP Elsa

Thank you all for your kind words . Sven is doing better than we thought, she doesn't seem to be looking for Elsa and is eating as normal. The house just seems very quiet to us as Elsa was much more vocal than Sven and would wheek constantly.

We're going to go to a rescue and hopefully bond Sven with another pig so she has some company.

BBM - This is probably a very good idea for all of you .
My ex GF just had both her dogs dying of pneumonia in the space of 4 days , they were all devastated . I suggested to get another pet if possible , thankfully they listened and got a rescue puppy from Battersea rescue . The house lit up again , lil puppy brought life back and whilst nobody will ever forget those so sadly taken way too early , it is helping them getting through the shock and utter pain.
For what my opinion's worth , I highly recommend it.
