Two weeks ago Buttons left us very unexpectedly and fast. On Wednesday she wasnāt feeling like herself, on Thursday sheād stopped eating and on Sunday, after trying everything we could to make her feel better, we had to make the decision to help her over the bridge. No one knows why she stopped eating but at 6,5 years old and with her life story my vet and me decided it is time to let her rest.
Buttons came to me in May of 2020 at 8ish weeks old, pregnant and terrified of humans. It took the good part of a year to fully gain her trust but once we were there, we were inseparable. She was the most gentle, loving little soul. Quiet as a mouse until food time rolled around. Thatās when she usually found her voice in form of the loudest and longest wheeks I have ever heard. In 2023 her life nearly ended a few times after her spay that came with so many complications but she fought for weeks and I fought with and for her. And I am so happy I did because she got to experience another wonderful 3 years with us.
My little girlypop, my princess. It took me two weeks to be able to even write this post and still I am sitting here with tears running down my face. You have been the bestest girl and life is not the same without your little nose poking out of the hay or your violent wheeks at dinner time. Thank you for being a part of my life for so long
Now you can popcorn free with your boys who have no doubt been waiting for you at the bridge. Sleep tight, little muffin.
