i can't believe I am posting this as been in tears for an hour and seems so surreal. I went to feed my piggies around 8pm and found Gizmo sat hunched up, not eating and looking so sad. Tried feeding her and she wouldn't even move her mouth so called the vet back, took her in and she didn't come home : (

It is such a horrible decision and seems so odd she was still here an hour ago. £130 and no piggy to cuddle.

She was ok this morning and we've only had her a year next week as she was a rescue piggy after I lost Sammy last June. She was very timid, bit bossy and just finding her feet. She was only around 18 months old and last night was the first time she came to the cage door and took grass from my hand. She's now gone : ( just don't get what happened.....

Night night beautiful Gizmo pig. So so sorry we didn't get chance to have more cuddles or know each other better xx

I am ever so sorry; I have lost my Ffowlyn to blockage two years ago. It must have set in soon after I'd gone to sleep, and by the morning she was too far gone, so the only thing I could do for her was to pts her asap to relieve her from the immense pain she was in. These things can strike right out of the blue; they are frightening in their speed.

Take good care of yourself; you have not failed her in any way. Your feelings of guilt are a natural reaction of your love and your desire to make sense of what has happened. You are going to feel very drained and blue once the adrenaline rush is going to run out; it is going to take a while for it all to sink in. Please take your time and try to take things as lightly as possible while you are trying to come to terms with something that is not easy to come to terms with. It is one of the things that are sadly still very much out of our or even a vet's control.

RIP Gizmo
