Lady Kelly
Senior Guinea Pig
Sleep tight little Isobel, you special little piggy.
I knew we were in for a bumpy ride when the vet pointed out all the things she thought were wrong with you, following it up with the fact that there might be an underlying deformity which meant you could have spent the rest of your life with ongoing problems. That visit was enough for you and you decided to slip away from me very quickly.
A victim of mass breeding, you ended up in rescue as a surplus from a breeder who had agreed to stop but your timidness and extra toe showed what damage a thoughtless mass breeder could do for such a small animal and it makes me angry to think that could have been the cause of all your problems but you are free of it now.
Although we had less than 2 years with you its been a lovely two years. You have always played the shy, placid girl yet I saw you squaring up to Jemima and bossing her around on several occasions! Your pairing with Bumble was near perfect in itself but your later cagemate, Daisy, really did seem to be your soulmate. It's been just over 24 hours but I already miss your little face.
And I know I posted it not long ago but I didn't realise it would be pretty much the last photo I would get to take
