It's taken me a couple of weeks to bring myself to write a goodbye to my brave and gorgeous boy. He is the 3rd piggy I have lost since November and the emotional strain has been awful. On the 9th February after a lengthy battle with bladder stones and sludge, I made the heartbreaking decision to end Rio's suffering. We spent the day snuggled on the sofa and Rio did what he does best - munched his way through the contents of my fridge! Sadly though, his health had deteriorated and although he was eating well, he was continually losing weight (and muscle) and his quality of life just wasn't good enough. Rio was part of my life for 6 and a half years and I miss him immensely. I will never forget his cheeky ways, his adorable goofy face and his excited wheeks whenever the fridge door opened! When we came home from the vets, we went in the guinea pig room and looked out of the window to see a rainbow. Quite fitting.

RIP my little man x

What a wonderful tribute to your handsome man. I'm so sorry that you lost him, on top of losing the others. So many amazing photos - he was so photogenic. Big hugs. Popcorn free Rio xx

I am really sorry you had to make the choice to help Rio on his way to the Rainbow Bridge, such a heartbreaking decision to make but one that is always made with the love you have for him at the forefront of your mind. He was such a beautiful little guy and will remain nested deep in your heart forever. Huge hugs

Sleep well gorgeous boy

RIP Rio

This made me cry.

He is beautiful, I know exactly what it feels like to lose a piggy, they're not just "pets" they're a part of your life and family, and it feels as if somethings missing from you when they pass.

He looks so happy in those pictures, and I'm sure he had a wonderful life with you. He's in no pain now, happy and peaceful exactly what he deserves.
