At only 13 months old sadly lost my Silver thursday from heat exhaustion bless her my 3 year old boy misses her lots keeps looking up to sky and saying he wants to get her back from guinea pig heaven shes survived by her older sister Peppa who is a little confused as to where Silver is. I'm ordering a plaque in her memory to put on the grave at bottom of our garden. Here is a picture of them together . .

I'm sorry for your loss. Heat exhaustion is a real hazard this time of year and sadly common, they need good shade and cool drinking water more than ever.
RIP little Silver, and hugs to you and especially your little boy, it's hard for them to understand at that age, but they are often very resilient and will get used to the fact that SIlver has now left.

Good luck in finding a companion for Peppa, if you have any questions on this or need advice please don't be afraid to ask. There's lots of useful threads on bonding too :) xx

Aw hun please don't beat yourself up. As I say, it does happen a lot this time of year and it kind of creeps up (the heat). Hind-sight is a wonderful thing and I also have regrets in things that I have done/not done for pets. One such regret was an incident that caused the death of my gorgeous hamster, and if I had done something different she would have been fine. I have learned from the incident, and now know how to avoid it, but I didn't know at the time....
Death is a strange concept for little kids. Don't worry though, he will accept it.
