I'm so sad to be posting this just over 3 weeks after her mum, Ebony, passed to the bridge (from an infection).
Truffles passed on Monday night with the vet at her home. Truffles was taken ill on Saturday morning and rushed to the vets (she was still eating but just seemed miserable). Initially it looked like she just had an upset stomach but the 2nd vet visit (sunday) revealed ovarian cysts and she was very poorly. The vet was great and took Truffles home with her for overnight TLC.
She had an operation on Monday morning to remove the ovaries etc and survived the op..... but later that night, at home with the vet, she deteriorated and had to be put to sleep. My vet was amazing and was so upset at the final outcome - she really tried her best with Truffles and kept me informed throughout and I am glad in the end that Truffles was with her and not me as she could at least stop any suffering.
So I am devastated to have lost 2 piggies in a month .... mother (Ebony) and daughter, Truffles.... but they are now buried side by side down the garden and hopefully are re-united at the bridge.
Truffles is sadly missed by her 2 sisters - Rolo and Smartie and also Auntie Sherbet. Auntie Sherbet is keeping Rolo (in particular) and Smartie in line.
Here is/was Truffles:
Bye Truffles - we will miss you always but hope you are nomming pain-free over the bridge
Me (the piggies cant type), Sherbet, Rolo and Smartie..... and maybe even Cookie and Candy in the cage down under
xx
