My gorgeous girl decided to leave us today.:0 It was totally unexpected, Blossom had shown no sign of illness, had tucked in happily to her supper last night, but when I went into the piggy room this morning she was looking a little fluffed up and was sitting under her tunnel - normally she is the first to the side of the cage to see what food is on offer.:)

Blossom reached the grand old age of 6 1/2, she had never had a days illness and was the boss on my herd. She was a somewhat large lady, but a real gentle girlie who loved snuggles. When I picked her up this morning she settled down for a cuddle in my arms, helped herself to a little bit of Critical Care that I had made up for Jazz before snuggling down again - I couldn't put my finger on it, but I just had a gut feeling that she wasn't going to be with us much longer.

After our cuddle I popped her back in with her friends, an hour later she had gone:0 surrounded by her hubby Jazz and her 3 girlfriends. The others were snuggled up around her, saying their goodbyes.

Thank you for being such a good friend over the last 6 1/2 years Bloss, have fun at Rainbow Bridge and say hello to the rest of the gang, we are going to miss you gorgeous.x)

Another little star now twinkling in the sky ........... :(

Thank you all for your lovely posts, it means a lot.

We have buried Blossom in a piggy pot and placed her with her piggy friends who have gone before her to RB. We decided we needed something that flowered in memory of her name so have opted for an Azalea called Olga Niblet - we all felt it was quite apt for a piggy, Olga after Michael Bonds "Olga de Polga" and "Niblet" because that's what Bloss spent most of her time doing!:))x)

Hope you are comfortable and at peace little lady, I shall look forward to seeing you bloom next spring.x>>

What a great age,RIP Blossom and please help Elvis on his way.

I am so sorry that you lost your beautiful lady! What a loving and very much deserved tribute!

It comes as such a shock when it seemingly comes out of the blue - even if it was a wonderful way for that precious girl to go!

RIP Blossom - you will live forever in your mummy's heart
