My 10 month old Guinea pig has recently started sleeping a lot more than usual, will come out for food, some hay and a drink but not really for anything else. Should I be worried?

She (Pebbles) has a cage mate called Minnie who is the dominant one. I think it could be because normally Pebbles is more lively and get tired very easy because of all the running around she does. I just want to be sure that it isn't something bad.

Such a young piggy shouldn't be running out of energy so easily. Does she seem happy with her friend, or do you think she could be feeling bullied? I general health check could be a good idea.

She get on with her friend absolutely perfect they have had a bit of a fight in the past but have seen to forgotten about that. They do normally sleep all morning and then come out in the afternoon for food until about 8.

I agree.
A very good policy is to get a vet check as soon as you notice anything which makes you feel concerned.
This means that careful owners often pick up the subtle signs that there is something wrong before it becomes serious.
My vet has told me that they'd rather see a worried owner with a healthy piggy than one who has left it too late.

I agree with furryfriends. That is not normal. Please make sure that she is vet checked by an experienced vet, especially the heart.

Hi!

Just an update on pebbles - we took her to the vet and found out that there was a lump in her throat, and she got some antibiotics for it. She seems better already! - she was very good at the vet apart from all of the piggie screams when she was picked up.
