My boy Wilbur is getting up there in age he's about 5-6 years old now. Lately it seems like he's always sleeping all the time sometimes he won't pop up and come up to me like he usually does when I walk in (And everytime he does that I think he's dead) is it normal for older pigs to just sleep all the time? He's also lost a bit of weight but he's still eating everything I give him. I haven't had a senior guniea pig before until now my others are still very young so tips for senior care would be appreciated. I'm going to make him a check up appointment with their vet because I'm very paranoid.

It is common for then to rest more as they age but a check up is always a good idea. Things like arthritis can creep in and make them less active as well as uncomfortable.

It can be normal to lose weight as they age bit then they maintain at a new lower normal. it’s always something to monitor more closely though as it can just as easily be illness related and requiring support feeding.
how much weight has he lost?
