Hi one of my pigs, over the last 4 days has become quite sleepy. He seems to be making himself comfy a lot more than usual. He's around 7 months old so still young. He's eating, drinking and still comes out for playtime as usual, and he's still alert when anyone comes up to the cage but when excitement goes he quickly goes back to sleeping. I've checked for scratches, nails trimmed, teeth, bloated tummy etc but I can't find anythin unusual. Do u think I should get him to the vets? If so, would a local vets be ok or should I go to the specialist one they are registered with (1hour drive away) x

Any change in guinea pig behaviour is a cause for concern. Lethargy is often an indication of illness so I would get the vet to check him over.

Please have your piggy vet checked, including the heart.

Has he got a companion for round the clock stimulation or is he is on his own?

Thankyou, he has a friend. So I'l get him checked x
