Hello! I've been awol for a while - just too busy at home, with the boarding and at the 'day job' to get on the forum - but I've just downloaded some pics of the piggies and I thought I'd share a couple with you, cos I know how much you like pigtures!

This is sleepy Squeaky.......how snuggly and comfy does he look, bless him!

Actually, I had been debating with myself whether to update you all about Herbie-licious, the wonderful three-legged piggle, but seeing as you asked...!

He came to stay again last year - think it was about September - and while he was with us, his owners kept sending me messages saying how they couldn't look after him properly, they couldn't give him what he needed, etc, etc........

The owner and her son did both have a learning disability, but they were looking after Herbie just fine! He was healthy (apart from the missing leg, of course) and happy, and, if they didn't know something, they'd ask me for advice and I was more than happy to help them out in any way I could.

Anyway, throughout the time I'd known them and Herbie (about 3 months), they'd kept on saying these negative things on and off, and they'd asked me if I could re-home Herbie for them several times. Each time they'd asked me, I'd reassured them that they were doing a great job and they'd changed their mind and kept him.

In September though, I sensed that something had changed.....they kept sending me messages, over and over, and they seemed 100% sure that they wanted him rehoming. He was staying with us, and they basically didn't want us to bring him home.

So, a friend of mine, who had had guinea pigs in the past, had already been talking to me about getting a couple of piggies of her own again. I thought...."perfect timing!". Once I made absolutely sure that his old owner didn't want him back, my friend came round to meet Herbie, fell totally in love with him, and took him home with her straight away. I got her started with a cage, bottle, bowls, fleece pad for bedding, hay and food, and off Herbie went to his lovely new home!

He's now been castrated (so he's no longer walking on his....erm.....crown jewels!) and the new owner is now on the hunt for a
lady friend for him!

So, all's well that ends well. He's now been renamed "Mr Pwig" (don't ask :)) ), and he's most definitely fallen on his (three) feet!
