having moved in to a house where the garden was just gravel....
the whole thing was about 14inches deep in crap gravel...
well.... i finally got grass put down...
and its been down for a week and a half now and i thought it would be okay to put the piggies on there... some of them have never been on grass before... and i thought there would be lodes of excitment... popcorning... runnng round... NOMS... and well....
the herd have stayed firmly in the hutch and have refused to go out in the run... i even popped a few of them in the run and they flew staight back in the hutch...
i put the boys in my other run... and they have never been on grass before... and i was really expecting some happy moments with them becuase they are ALWAYS popcorning... and guess what... nothing... they look totally shocked... lmao...
how disappointing eh...?!?!?
i was sat poised with my camera to get some nice photos of them and no one moved...!... lmao...
heres the boys...

Awww! I'm sure they will get confident in no time and there will be plenty of wheeking and popcorning! Probably when you don't have the camera ready!

Awww, typical eh?! I'm sure they'll get use to the idea. Remember piggies have a 6th sense for photo opportunities....

haha this made me laugh as my old piggy Charles DETESTED grass. He was just too posh and hated getting his paws grubby! I perserved several times in 6 years to no avail, i would even put a blanket in which he would hop onto then wheek like crazy when he'd had enough, he just would not put one paw on grass!rolleyes

However your two boys are on it so thats good and will just take some time to get used to it, I'm sure once they work out that the floor is edible they'll be well away lol! :))

i just spent a small fortune on getting the garden done for the pigs...!
lmao...
there on it becuase they have no choice...!...lol
there indoor piggies.... and i just plopped them in the run...
just been outside to check on them and jaffa...(black and orange) was running half way accross the run... pulling up a blade of grass and then backing up in to his corner again... which by the way... has a lode of untouched grass...@)rolleyes

same, mine are indoors, always have been and I thought it would be such a WONDERFUL notion for them to be able to go outside and the run was only £40 blah blah blah.

Now where i live I only have gravel so they have an indoor play pen, ungrateful ...:<>

They'll get used to it. I don't think Bob had been on grass before and it's taken him about 8 goes before he's started to enjoy it. He was just so frustraited to start with, he couldn't work out why the grass didn't come out when you pull it like hay. He brrrred at every noise and made such a fuss. Today was the first time he actually seemed to be enjoying it. He's come out from under his box and stuffed his face.
They'll get there.

Mine stayed in the travel box for a week or so when I first rescued them. Once they got over their nerves, they were right little devils trying to catch to put back in their hutch. Now I've got the trained, as soon as I go in the pen, they all run into the box ready to be picked up and go to bed. ;)
