'Bump' my youngest piggy is a 'disabled' piggy, he is partially blind and the vet seemed to think he had neurological problems, but is a happy pig and lives/copes with it. Drinks and eats fine, has regular veggies like my other pig, however ... I noticed this afternoon after coming in from work that he was resting in the corner of the cage rather than where he normally is which is inside his little hut out of the way. I noticed on the food bowl was a sloppy poo and found another not too far away in the cage, rest of the poo 'seems' OK -fingers crossed- I wasnt sure if I have given him too many veg perhaps? 'Madam' my other piggy is absolutely fine and they both have the same amount/type of veg everyday. Got me a bit worried as I know piggies go down hill very quickly. Any advice? :...

If the poo is diarrhea (which it doesn't sound like it is) he would need to see a vet immediately.
But from your post it sounds like they are a little sloppy and wet. Pop him into a run for a little while and see what his latest poo's are like.... If the are wet but still have form, don't feed him any veggies just hay for a day or so. The fibre should help firm up his poo's. Then re-introduce veggies slowly, sometimes piggies do get wet poo's and after a few days off veg they are back to normal.

Do you weigh him regulary? How is his weight?

Hi, thanks for the advice! I weigh both pigs every Sunday, his weight from Sunday gone was 550g, 2 weeks ago he was 500g, so he did put weight on! He is about 4-5 month old now. I will stay off the veg for a few day's and let him out for a run tonight (they are both indoors) xx>>>

Weight sounds fine. Yeah just put him in the run seperate from his friend for a short while just to monitor the poo, it normally arrives quickly doesn't it! I often think Piggies are little tubes on legs :))

Welcome to the fourm by the way, we have a blind piggie too

Yes, I totally agree! 'Bump' is the piggy on my photo, not sure what breed he is, Alpaca maybe? I will monitor him and update his progress! I might check his poo's through the day as he has had some hay and few nuggets from his bowl. The last veg I gave him was spinach and red peppers?

He's lovely x) love his name also, no good with breeds I'm afraid... But someone will know what he is.

Hai! Bump is on the mend and eating like he used to :) Although his weight has stayed put and stayed the same throughout, how odd! Drunk a lot of water and hay. Happy me that he is still poo'ing! :)

Pleased to hear Bump is doing well, thanks for the update.
