Slug problem ewww

With the very wet weather recently has anyone else noticed lots of slugs? I always leave a little piggy food in the dustpan on the floor of the outhouse as I'd rather any slugs eat from their instead of the piggies food bowl.
Last night I got the shock of my life. We came home quite late and I went to the outhouse to put the pigs to bed who were already sleeping for the night. The dutpan on the floor must have had at least 10 slugs in it >>> Chris came out and put the slugs in a carrier bag and in to the outdoor bin and put salt all over the floor of the outhouse. I went out this morning and their are a couple of dead ones in the salt which I had to sweep up *shudder* I then went to the bin and the rim is covered in the slugs that Chris put in there last night and they are all dead *shudder again* Mean while, Ellie and Eliza are just chilling in their hutch looking at me gone out why I whimper away. I really do hate slugs and have a phobia of them so last night and this morning hasn't been good Chris tried to make me feel sorry for them by saying that because it has been dry they haven't been able to come out but because if the wet weather recently, all they wanted to do was come out and eat because they are hungry. I do feel a bit bad but the look of them just makes me cringe >>>

I don't ever have that problem...must be the excessive dampness :{

He he, I know. I wouldn't be able to do it myself It's bad enough sweeping up one dead one :o

We also have alot of snails aswell, I am thinking of selling them to the french. I opened my curtains in my spare room the other morning and a slug was crawling up the glass outside. Yuck >>>

we always get loads of slugs and snails out the back. I quite like the look of snails, but i hate slugs, gross! though i have had to put down slug pellets now though cos we are trying to grow veg.

They dont like copper wire,put that around your run/hutch's and veggie patch's,works a treat here.
