Hi everyone,

I haven't been on here in ages, I have been very busy. Anyways, as I was changing my 2 piggies, this morning, and was looking at Frankkie's little bald patch, I had a sudden fear... what if it was ringworm? This litttle bald patch is where a crested pig would have the centre of its crest, so I first thought it was morphism, Frankkie was trying to be like Finlay! It appeared a few months back and I never thought anything of it. It hasn't really grown in size, doesn't appear itchy or sore or flaky, it was a little raised in the past but not anymore. As Frankkie is white all over, his skin is pale, so I can tell that it doesn't appear irriated, it's still pale.

There is nothing else wrong with him and his cagemate is fine too. The only difference I have noticed is how he seems to sleep more, or to put it in a better way, he seems more relaxed about snoozing in less covert areas of the cage (except when he turns the cuddle cups upside down to make a den with them!).

I'd greatly appreciate some advice on that.

HI Love.......... i haven't any ideas....... good idea from Abi_Nurse........ pop a pic on and i'm sure someone will be able to help you !

Meantime give both the boys some girlie wheeeeeeeeeeeeeks and little nose rubs from me XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

fear not, he is not turning into a crested lol
photo would be great though

I'll see what I can do... he's a little slippery!
I'm not worried about him tuning creted! more so that he may have some skin disease!

it's really not like the photos in your links at all. I will try to post a pic.

I couldn't get anything better....

I am sorry, but it is near impossible to make a diagnosis without having a very good and close look at that patch. Personally, I would have it seen by a vet.

Do the hairs come out easily with a bit of skin (fungal), or are they broken (mites)?

It is not in a place where you expect a piggy to be barbered, either!

WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKY HEALING LOVES FOR FRANKKIE XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

I have decided to order some fungal shampoo and see where we go from here. I may also invest in Invermectin. 3 years ago, our vet never found why our pigs were itching all the time, yet after the treatment, the scrathing stopped. Currently, they are not scratching.
