2 of my guinea-pigs, Elsa & Barry are both getting quite small and have a few bald patches. Elsie's is worse than Barry's. I haven't changed their food or anything and they are still eating the same as normal. I have had a look at them and can't find any mites, so I don't think it's that. I have a shampoo for them that gets rid of a lot of skin problems on guinea-pigs and I was going to bathe them both (and Spicy who lives with Elsa) in it tommorow and clean out their hutches too. What else should I do?

How old are the pigs? Older pigs do tend to lose weight and hair.
Have they been treated against mites or fungal infections?

Elsie is 2 and I don't know how old Barry is but my guess is he's about 3. I've spoken to someone who thinks it might be fungal? And has advised me to use Johnsons Small Animal Insecticidal on them. One of my other guinea-pigs, Spicy, had what looked very simular to what Elsie & Barry have now last year and I gave her one bath in the shampoo and it cleared up. I think I'm going to try with the shampoo first and if it doesn't get rid of it I'll get ivermectin. Is there anything else I can do for them?

I personally wouldn't put just any shampoo on them as you don't know what kind of things are in it, chemical wise.
A lot of people use shampoos from gorgeous guineas as they are natural and chemical free - healthier for the pigs, yet still gets rid of fungal.

It could be mites or fungal. Mites aren't visible - lice are.
