Hi everyone,

I will be taking Nutmeg to the vet as soon as I can, but I wanted to know if anyone had any ideas on what this could be.

I found a hard lump, about 3mm, under his foreskin. He’s 4.5 years old, recently recovered from what was assumed to be a UTI. I was checking his willy over tonight and felt the lump, I manipulated his penis out and the lump is sort of inside the foreskin, not the penis, and it’s almost poking through the thin skin, appears to be a light colour. I was thinking it was a calcium stone until I realised it’s not in the actual penis, so I don’t have a clue what it could be or how serious it is.

I’m just wondering if anyone has ever come across anything similar before? It doesn’t really seem to be bothering him, he’s eating, drinking, running about etc.

Hi!
Please have your piggy vet checked for a potential sperm rod (dried semen fluid, which is smooth and white) as the most likely culprit if it is not coming out easily. Smegma can also build up quite quickly and badly in some boar penis shafts.

Thank you, I’m fairly confident it’s not a sperm rod as it’s actually trapped inside the skin of the foreskin, rather than underneath, but I guess we will see when he goes to the vets - hopefully that’s all it is! He does have rather large lumps of boar glue on occasion so perhaps something has worked it’s way into somewhere it shouldn’t be.

Hey, I was just wondering if you had been to the vet about this yet? I've noticed something like this in my Woody who's going to the vets for a check this week.

I did - our vet said she thought it was a swollen gland, and to just observe and leave it alone. He has had a urine sample sent to a lab for a culture and sensitivity test due to a reappearance of blood in his urine, and x rays booked, but we think that’s probably unrelated to the lump :)

I see, hopefully our vet will say the same. Sorry to hear about Nutmeg, our Buzz had to have a couple of bladder stones removed when he had blood in his urine but now you'd never think he had gone through that. Best wishes for Nutmeg, good luck :)

Good luck! I hope Buzz has a similar outcome for his lump, and it’s reassuring to hear he went through a bladder op successfully! Thank you :)

How did this end up working out for you and Nutmeg? I’m dealing with a similar issue currently

The OP hasn't been on the Forum since December 2021. Maybe start your own thread about the problem your piggie has then you are likely to get more answers from the Health specialists as it won't be lost in another thread.
