Hi,
I have a male guinea pig who is almost 2 years old and last night I discovered a very small lump on his back. It isn’t causing him any pain and he doesn’t seem bothered about it at all. He’s eating as normal and being his normal self. It feels a little bit soft, but it’s difficult to see the lump as his fur is very thick.
I’m very apprehensive about going to the vets at the moment and don’t want to jump in if there is nothing wrong with him.
Does anyone have any advice about what this could be or what I should do?
Jess

Any suddenly appearing or growing lump needs to be checked out by the vet. It could be anything from a fatty lump to an abscess so he really does need to be seen by a vet.

Vets have good procedures in place at the moment but you won’t be allowed to go in. The procedure is generally that you’ll have to call when you get there and the staff will come out and collect piggy from a safe distance and take him in and then call you.
