Do any of you go to small pet shows? like the ones at Harrogate Burgess small pet show or London pet show? I've always wanted to go to one but never know where does them? I'm interested to see which ones people have been to :)

I went to the London pet show. It seemed more suited for children or people who do not have a certain pet and are looking for information.

I went to the Harrogate Small Animal show for the last 3 years. I discovered Dust Free Hay there and have ordered it over their website ever since. There also tends to be small stalls full of things for guinea pigs not seen in shops. Although this year there were fewer of these stalls. But they included Piggiepigpigs who makes bedding for pigs and rats, customised sweatshirts with guinea pig logos, water bottles (a type specially for GPs who tend to play with the type normally sold in shops, there was one stall that had a good selection of guinea pig huts and syringes and I bought some stuff to put on paws to stop bleeding. There was a lot there of interest to buy that you wouldn't always see in shops. You could get a lot of this stuff over the internet but I find it better to actually see things before buying. I spent quite a lot this year as I am now more aware of what my pigs need. There was a Burgess Stand and a team from an Agricultural College giving advice which I found useful. If you went with children it's a good introduction to small animals. But the downside is the showing of the animals.

yeah I'd love to go to one just for the stalls so I can spoil my piggies lol :) , I'm not interested in the showing of animals

I have been to one before, id not ever go again unless they stopped the "show" part where the animals are cooped up especially the rabbits who are timid by nature in tiny pens in a crowded place .... the other half of the show I enjoyed I would love a "pet stuff festival" with loads of small makers present though. The idea of breeding to show and to win medals is againts the forum rules but I do agree on teh stalls part being lovely! Its where I felt hay for pets and got some cosies from.

There's a show at Stoneleigh park in Warwickshire in August called 'The Pet Show' - It seems to cover all animals but I know there's a small animal section there - no idea what it's like, bit to far away from me,it was on last year as well seems like quite a big event though.
This is their website:

yeah its like a pet festival type thing I would love to go to, I just want to see a big place where I can buy lots of stuff for my guinea pigs lol they are spoilt little piggies! :)

I went to the London pet show last year and they did have rabbits and guinea pigs however the pigs had a massive run and the rabbits had a huge runaround set up. Their small animal bit was all done by woodgreen and the RWAF so it was a nice set up for them. Not like typical 'fancy' shows where they get judged just info about proper care and a small number of animals.
