Hey,
I just noticed some small poops from Bella. Does anyone have any info on this? We ran out of hay about 2 days ago but I'm going to buy more today. Is that possibly why?
Thank you x

That could definitely be the reason as they need continuous hay for the fibre in their diet. 2 days is way too long to go without hay so please get her some ASAP, it should make up 80% of their diet and be in constant supply. If she doesn't have the fibre to keep her guts going then it will cause small poops and possibly GI stasis.

Yes, that is most likely the reason. Hay makes over 80% of the daily food intake, which means that Bella has been put on a diet with eating only about 1/5 of what she normally eats in a day!
Please take the time to read our diet guide. Long Term Balanced General And Special Needs Guinea Pig Diets

Poor piggie I hope you got some hay for her. 2 days is way to long! 😔

Hey, just an update. Bella does have some hay in the cage . However it’s a bit old and there’s not much. So there is a bit of hay available. Just not much. Tomorrow at 9:00 my dog has a trip to petsathome for groom so she will have some very early in the morning. I get the usual Timothy and mix it with this special camomile hay.
Thanks guys
