Small Wound Advice Please

My new rescue guinea pig had a scab above his eye on the lid that looked quite old. Tonight he's knocked the scab off and it has been bleeding a bit. It isn't bothering his eye at all. I'll keep an eye on it but is there anything else I need to do?

You could dab it with saline solution if necessary (add 1 teaspoon to 1 pint of boiled, cooled water) as a disinfectant. As it has been bleeding quite a bit there shouldn't be a great danger of infection.

I agree, bathe lightly with salt water to keep it as clean as possible.
