I have 2 boars ages about 4 months. It's the first time I've owned boars. I don't know if it's normal but they smell of urine and once they have piddled they seem to be saturated underneath.

I don't want to Bath then but would it be ok to freshen then up with baby wipes?

Maybe it's just getting use to the Boar smell

My boy does tend to be smellier than my girls lol but the only time mine have sat in it is lately as my pig Georgie recently lost his cage mate and is a bit depressed and the friend he lost had very bad arthritis in his back legs and that was the reason he sat in his wee.I think baby wipes should be fine or pet wipes that you can get at Pets at home should be ok too.

I have two boars that age as well and I've had them since they were 1 month old so I noticed the smell too however mine never sit in their wee. One of my boys is long haired and he gets a dirty bum because of the longer hairs dragging along and this resulted in me giving them a bath (focused on their rear ends) and it really did help with the scent a lot! One of my boys is very cooperative when I scrubbed his parts or other wise check them out to make sure all is good. The other barely let me give him a wash back there. Short term I'm sure wipes are a good fix but the bath I gave mine seemed to fix the scent for a good two weeks if not more, then the hot weather hit and they've been strutting around being smelly again lol. It's unusual for a Guinea to lay in their wee (unless sick depressed arthritis etc) from what I can tell. Any reason you can think of why your boy sits in his?

It is more when they are out for floor time. Sometimes I pop a fleece down but if not they just run round on the hard floor. I'm guessing whilst they play they just run through it etc

If it's more when they're out for floor time, they're probably scent marking, and this does smell! Have you noticed them dragging their bums along?

My girls are smellier than my boys, the girls always marinate in their wee! The boys are always dry underneath but do seem to get greasier fur than the girls.
