i cleaned out my 2 last night and today I'm sure i can smell them.

they have pooped all aver the cage and pee everywhere too, how do i train them to do it in one place.

also just had a thought they are on fleece over newspaper could that be the smell, what does everyone else put under there fleece.

thanks jenny

I put towels under my fleece, You can try and littertrain them but it's not very successful, mine just go were they like!

Some piggies have 'favoured' toilet areas but generally if a piggie has gotta go then they gotta go. My Montomgery has a corner of his cage where he prefers to poo and so does my other boy, but my girls just go wherever they want. I would never have thought that boys would have had the better toilet habbits.

:))

I use fleece then a dry nights pad (kids ones) They last me around 5-6 days. I have 2 girls, but they have been really good at using the litter tray. They did it themselves TBH I know I have been lucky lol

Can I borrow your girls to see if they can litter train mine?:)) You could hire them out as piggie litter trainers:(|)

I use washable incontinence pads under my fleece to keep my girls dry and odour free though they are relatively well toilet trained at home, useless when i take them elsewhere, though cottonbud will still only wee in her hutch/cage/run!

yes ruby i want your girls to train my boys as they do their stuff where ever they want and the litter trays are for sleeping in!rolleyes
are the dry nites pads better than puppy pads?they are more expensive arent they but are they better?

I had the same problem with fleece. i had newspaper, then towls and then fleece.... i just changed back to sawdust as i thihnk its much easier & cleaner :D

I seem to have my cage set-up totally different from everyone as I'm not into the idea of washing fleeces all the time.

I have a layer of newspaper, a layer of megazorb and then hay on the top.

My two wee/poo absolutely everywhere - including their food bowls!

My two are on woodshavings and I have to clean them out every single day from top to bottom, I once left it for two days and the cage was absolutely filthy and smelly! Mine seem to pee and poo for England. :))
