Ok, this is going to sound a strange question to ask but i'm going to ask it anyway. Sometimes I notice that Connie and Eliza smell. Its not a disgusting or dirty smell but it is a smell. They usually smell of hay etc but as it gets to clean out day, they don't smell as fresh as normal. I'm just wondering if there is anything that can be used or brought that can make them smell fresher without having to bath them? Also, does anyone else have this problem?

I'm not sure i know what smell you're describing but guineas do have a scent my daughter sometimes sniffs her t-shirt and proudly announces she can smell the piggies but its not an odour i feel needs dealing with or something i would deem a problem.I empty and clean my cages with white vinegar every other day and remove any poo collections as they arrive and only actually bath mine if necessary ie lice or the like.

Of course they smell - They're furred animals that happily pee, pooh, walk through it and even lay in it !

You can get wipes from PAH for them, like a wet wipe to clean the hair - I've never tried them though.

Also if they are Sows their odour may change when they com into season every 14-16 days.

I find cleaning their pee courners every day reduces the smell a bit, again its not a nasty smell just a piggy smell.

Any animal has its own smell as do all humans.
