How do you all get your piggies to pose in an attractive manner for a photo?

I tried it and all I got was this.

I've even got a show quality black self pig apparently so he should know better.

Have you got a "macro" (close up) function on your camera? That helps!

the rest is patience and LOTS of pics...

I would like to advise you of the fact that this is a rescue friendly forum and that it is against the rules to discuss breeding on here.

I didn't breed him and I don't show him. He came as one of a pair from a badly advised friend who didn't even know he was a he. He and She had a babie and all three are living happily correctly identified and seperated in my piggie palace. My friend has been seriously told off about it and got themselves a beanie baby collection instead. I'm definately interested in the rescue, health and welbieng issues on here.

I have contacted the breeder though for a bit of background (health and future expected problems etc) and he is actually very good as far as breeders go. The poor piggies went through about 3 people before getting to me and somewhere 'He' turned into a 'She' and now he is very happy.

I will have a look about the 'macro' function though thank you.

Better pictures to follow soon hopefully.

Mine are all taken on my mobile phone, with the macro function and a lot of patience! Sometimes I'll use the 'best pic' option which shoots multiple shots one after the other.

Black piggies. Dont you just love them.

I think they're awesome. They have this really cool look about them.
It's like "I'm stylish and I know it!" where as other piggies are more "I'm just too cute and YOU know it!"

OMG mintyandgary i love your piggies! The piggie in the last picture is gorgeous!

I love all your boys - and that were lovely shots of shy Garry! Never mind the other being great lookers!

DITTO! They are just sooooo cute.

Gareth can't wait to see yours when you get those piccys right. I am still trying to get good shots too.

Hiya Gareth, Black piggies are really the hardest to photograph. I only have a quite cheap kodak digital, but it has a 'picture of a plant' setting for close up work, so from about 24" away, it's really good. Then when I have downloaded them on to photobucket, I use the edit facility and lighten the photo slightly, this makes the picture clearer. I usually put my piggies on top of a double decker hutch or kitchen work bench, then they are a good height to work from. I usually have the camera at the same level as the piggy, then snap. I think though that most people on here will tell you that we have to take round about 8 - 10 shots to get the perfect picture.
