Thank you for your kind words, our fur babies mean everything to us. I'm trying to stay positive that his little eye will heal. I do hope no one ever has to go through this but if anyone else I hope beans journey can help. His eye isn't looking much better he just had his second dose of baytril for the evening. Hopefully with us fighting the infection orally and topical we may see signs of improvement. We have a follow up in 7 days. But until then he will be having plenty of rest, and lots of love through this.
my guinea pig smores has a ulcer as well and my vet gave me this tube of ointment to put on his eye three times a day but he will barely eat or drink and lately i have been having to use droppers to make him get water in his system and also had to buy vitamin drops so he can get all the vitamins he needs through that water but its so much trouble trying to get him to even take that and I'm super worried, how long do you think the eye will heal ? And is it normal for him to bot eat regularly ? He definitely lost weight and when i saw my exotic vet he told me he should have been eating by that night or the next day but he only ate about once or twice since the visit to the vet and thats almost 3 days ago

Hi, that sounds concerning that he hasn't been eating very much. I would advise you create your own thread so you can get all the help you need. I would suggest mushing up his pellets with water and syringe feeding him at this point. If you have Oxbow Critical Care, which you can also get online, you can syringe feed him that to make sure he is getting all the nutrients he needs right now. Have you asked the vet if they have any advice for you?
